Visit the Eames House

The Eames House

Discover the World of Charles & Ray Eames

Preserved much as it was when they lived in it, the Eames House offers a rare glimpse into the life, work, and philosophy of Charles & Ray Eames. Whether exploring the grounds or experiencing their collections up close, each visit is an invitation to find inspiration in the joy, rigor, and playfulness that defined their approach to design.

Public Overview Tour

Our standard public tour offers a one-hour introduction to the Eames House, featuring guided stories in the meadow, views into the residence, interior access to Charles and Ray’s Studio, and time to explore the grounds.

Private Exterior Tour

Experience the Eames House from the outside on a private tour for 10 guests. Begin in the meadow to learn about Charles and Ray Eames’ early collaborations, the creation of the Eames Office, and the design of their landmark home, Case Study House #8. Your group will view the interior of the residence and step inside their working Studio—a space never before open to the public—while discovering the couple’s collections, prototypes, and creative process.

The 60-minute tour is offered at a cost of $1,250 for up to 10 people. We can accommodate additional guests at a cost of $125 per person. Private tours for student groups are also available at a reduced rate. Private tours are also available in Japanese upon request. Please contact us at visitorinfo@eamesfoundation.org to schedule your tour!

Private Interior Tour

Your group will also receive an introduction in the Eames House meadow as well as interior access to Charles and Ray’s working Studio. Access to the interior of the Eames House is limited and carefully managed under guidance from the Getty Conservation Institute to protect the house, its collections, and its interiors for future generations.

The cost of the 90-minute tour is $2,500 for up to 4 guests. Private tours are also available in Japanese upon request. If you are interested in booking a private interior tour, please contact us at visitorinfo@eamesfoundation.org.
