Fellowship

Expanding the Conversation
As pioneers across multiple fields, Charles and Ray Eames redefined what design could be, and how it could connect ideas, disciplines, and people. They built bridges between design and academia, seeking to open up dialogue from every possible point of view.

The Eames Fellowship
To continue this spirit of exchange, the Charles & Ray Eames Foundation has launched the Eames Fellowship, a three-year research program supporting mid-career scholars. With access to various Eames archives, as well as the collections and materials of partner institutions around the globe, the Eames Fellowship will generate new connections between the work of Charles and Ray Eames and our past, present, and future.
The inaugural Eames Fellow is curator and writer Catherine Ince, known for her work at the Victoria and Albert Museum and for curating the landmark Barbican exhibition The World of Charles and Ray Eames. Through her fellowship, Ince will develop a new Eames monograph—a comprehensive study that reexamines their philosophy, work, and influence through a contemporary lens.
